In the Social Universe class given to fourth graders in elementary schools throughout Québec, the students discover the founders of New France. François de Laval, first bishop of Québec, is among these.
Since 2006, the animation guides of the Centre François de Laval travel to schools across Québec to make known this figure of our quebecor history : « François de Laval, a founder to discover ».
Our program offers Power point presentations, antique costumes to dress up the children, object hardling, flag and coat of arms of François de Laval, and drawing of lots.
Groups that visit our Centre can also discover the Notre-Dame de Québec Basilica Cathedral, François de Laval’s tomb, and the underground cemetery where are interred the bishops.
